Dear Friends,

I know, I usually don't say that, but good things are happening on Staten Island, culturally. It was an exciting September and October so far, with a great art openings, such as Nick Fevelo's Todt Hill Wash site at the Newhouse Gallery, or world famous Mick Rock's GLAM! opening at SHOW gallery (still up till Dec. 23) . And then, for the first time our local Council on the Arts and Humanities landed an real coup in throwing a high end Gala at the insanely vast New York Container terminal. Yes, we seem to have finally recognized that we do live on an island with potential, in terms of its people and venues. And the next event you don't wanna miss is right around the corner. Go out and see:

Gary Lucas, who is described by The New Yorker as the "The thinking man's guitar hero", has played and collaborated with Leonard Bernstein, Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley, Lou Reed and Nick Cave among many others.
